Q: What does this app do?
A: This app helps you prepare for the AP Chinese Language and Culture exam, covering all six task types — Listening, Reading, Project Presentation, Project Q&A, Story Narration, and Email Response — with AI evaluation of your written and spoken answers.
Q: What are the three tabs?
A: 学习 Study — short foundational exercises: vocabulary flashcards, written Q&A, and spoken Q&A.
模拟练习 Practice — full mock versions of all six official exam sections, repeatable, with AI feedback after each submission.
历年真题 Test — official past free-response questions (2023–2025) with reference answers, so you can see real exam-level difficulty and scoring standards.
Q: Does 历年真题 Test include Listening or Reading questions?
A: No. College Board does not publicly release the multiple-choice section (Listening Comprehension and Reading Comprehension) from past exams, so 历年真题 Test only includes the officially released free-response questions — Project Presentation, Project Q&A, Story Narration, and Email Response — along with their reference answers. To practice Listening and Reading Comprehension, use the 模拟练习 Practice tab instead, under Part A: Listening and Part B: Reading — those are exam-style practice questions you can use as many times as you like.
Q: How does AI evaluation work?
A: After you submit a written or spoken answer, the AI first checks whether your response addresses the prompt and covers the required information, then flags grammar issues with suggested corrections. Results are shown in both Chinese and English. For speaking tasks, you can also use the system keyboard's microphone button to transcribe your speech directly.
Q: How do I switch between Simplified and Traditional Chinese?
A: Most question screens have a "繁体 Traditional Chinese" toggle near the top — turning it on switches the original text and email content to Traditional characters.
Q: Is the app free?
A: Vocabulary Flashcards and the FAQ are completely free. AI-evaluated features (Written/Spoken Q&A, all of Practice, and Past Exams) are unlocked with an auto-renewing monthly subscription, since every AI evaluation has a real, ongoing running cost. You can cancel anytime in Settings, and your access continues until the end of the current billing period.
Q: I already subscribed but it's showing as locked — what do I do?
A: Open the unlock screen on any locked section and tap "恢复购买 Restore Purchases." This re-checks your Apple ID's subscription status with the App Store — no additional charge — and unlocks the content if your subscription is active. This is most often needed after reinstalling the app or switching to a new device.
Q: Does the app need an internet connection?
A: Browsing vocabulary flashcards, past exam materials, and question prompts all work offline, since that content is bundled with the app. An internet connection is required to submit answers for AI evaluation and to complete or restore a subscription purchase.
Q: Does the app collect personal information?
A: The app has no account system and doesn't collect personal identifiers. Practice answers you submit for AI evaluation are sent to a third-party AI provider to generate feedback. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
If you notice an error in any question, prompt, or reference material, or would like to suggest additional content, please email us and we'll review and update as needed.
